Workers compensation

This is a type of business insurance that is mandatory for your business operations. As per laws, workers who get injured at work or as a result of the employers’ negligence have a legal right to claim compensation from them.

The State legal system classifies all employment into codes for specific jobs. This classification code has a pre-set value that depends on the risk of a particular job. This value is multiplied by the amount of the payroll for that specific position and that dictates the premium for workers’ compensation. Every state will differ in the base calculation of the premiums. It can also be adjusted as per the experience rating if a company’s premium goes to a certain limit or when the expected losses of a company will go over a limit that is predetermined.

The RNK Insurance Difference

A workers’ compensation business insurance policy will cover the injuries incurred by employees on the job and those that are incurred in the course of doing work for employers. This also includes travel to and from the place of work or business on company work. Coverage also includes injuries that result out of violence at workplace or through acts of terrorism or disasters. There are certain policies that also include coverage for specific places of work and occupational illnesses.

Business owners

This policy includes two important business insurance coverages – business liability and business property. The business owners are protected against theft, fire and lawsuits. There could be optional coverage for the business owners to meet their specific business needs. Business property insurance will safeguard the property of a business owner. It will include all leased and rented property and involves buildings, furniture, equipment and fixtures. It also offers cover for loss of accounts records and damage to computers or storage media. Business Liability Coverage will cover a business owner when his or her business is deemed responsible for causing injury or harm to persons or damage to others’ property. It includes the cost of the lawsuits. Loss of business income is covered when it is caused by unexpected events. The coverage will replace all loss of income in order to help meet the continuing financial responsibilities of a business owner like payroll and building rent.
